Got Frizz? 4 Ways To Tame Hair That's Naturally Coarse And Frizzy

Beauty & Fashion Blog

Unless you have an identical twin, there isn't anyone else like you on this planet. Your genetic traits and features play a big role in determining what you look like from the tips of your toes all the way up to your crowning glory, also known as your hair. If you have and always have had somewhat coarse and frizzy hair, it may have more to do with genetics than it does how you care for you hair. However, that doesn't mean you simply have to live with frizzy hair. There are some ways you can tame hair that's naturally coarse and frizzy.

Deep Conditioners

Regular deep-conditioning treatments can do wonders for frizzy, coarse hair. A true deep-conditioning treatment contains a cocktail of conditioning, strengthening, and shine products. Heat is also a must to get the most out of these deep-conditioning treatments. While you don't always have to go to a salon for this type of treatment, it's usually your best bet because your stylist will help customize a treatment that's perfect for your hair texture and will get the best results.

Taming Products

The products you use at home can have a great impact on your look. Always look for products that smooth and tame frizzy hair. Shampoos, conditioners, and styling aids formulated for naturally curly hair often work best. If you don't know what's right for your hair, talk to your stylist. They will have a lot of experience with different products.

Restructuring Treatments

Straighteners can sometimes be too hard on your hair, leaving it more damaged and frizzy than before. Fortunately, there are restructuring treatments available. These treatments gently straighten hair, taming frizz along the way. They also have a conditioning component, which will leave your hair silky and shiny rather than dry and rough like other chemical relaxers.

Color Treatments

All chemical treatments, including hair color, change the structure of your hair, which can be an advantage if you have frizzy hair. Applying permanent color can make your hair more manageable and add shine. If you don't want to change your hair color, a semi-permanent gloss or glaze treatment will also help tame frizzy hair to some extent.

As you can see, there are several ways you can transform your naturally coarse and frizzy hair into the hair that you want. You may not have been blessed with gorgeous, shiny, and manageable hair, but that doesn't mean you can't go out and get it.
